Submersible - The unique and advanced HT900 Series conforms to all aspects of the European ATEX Directive. It further exceeds the ATEX requirements by being completely submersible - all other radios in this class are merely splash-proof. Entel believes that non-submersible radios have no place in the harsh world of maritime and terrestrial high-risk environments. Three versions are available HT920 (VHF High-Band 148-174MHz), HT940 (Marine Band 156-163.275MHz) and HT980 (UHF TX 425-470MHz RX 438-470MHz). Supplied with a 3 year warranty.

Right – HT980 with ¼ wave UHF aerial (supplied as standard). A short (just over 1/3 the length) stubby aerial is available for use with good signal systems, please ask for details.

Intrinsically Safe
Radios for use in the potentially explosive environments of oil and gas installations, such as tankers or drilling platforms, or in gas-laden atmospheres encountered by the emergency services must be designed and constructed to be totally safe. compliance with the ATEX Directive is now a legal requirement in all European Union Member States. Only portable radios type approved to the ATEX Directive are regarded as intrinsically safe in EU/EFTA countries. Note: This also applies to mobile offshore units, and seagoing vessels that weigh less than 500 gross tonnes.

The HT900 Series conforms to Europe’s stringent ATEX Directive for intrinsically safe portables used in hazardous locations. E Approved in accordance with the European standards (EN 50014, EN 50020) Ex Explosion proof equipment

i Intrinsically Safe – the energy levels in the circuits cannot cause accidental detonation
b Area classifications 1, applying to zones 1 & 2.
II For use in areas where there is some risk of detonation
C The most hazardous gas grouping, including hydrogen and acetylene
T3 Based on the surface temperature not exceeding 200°C.
Area classification Zone 1 covers areas where the environment is occasionally hazardous Zone 2 covers areas where the environment is only rarely hazardous, and then only for brief periods.

Delivers a maximum of four watts and is set to the following levels per classification: IIA 4 Watts, IIB 3.5 Watts, IIC 1 Watt.

Lithium-Ion Battery Technology
This very latest battery technology gives you three big advantages: 1. Huge fifteen hour duty cycle with supplied CNB940E battery pack. 2. Not prone to the dreaded memory effect that Nicad and Ni-MH battery packs suffer from, therefore no more need to fully discharge your battery pack before charging! 3. Stores a charge up to three times longer than a Nicad.
